Paste 2 exports. Get Monday's review.

Paste Amazon's Sales and Traffic by Date report and Shopify's orders export. The builder adds them up into Sunday to Saturday weeks, draws the WBR's 6-12 chart, sets this week against last week and the same week last year, and says which channel is outside its normal range. The files are read in your browser and never uploaded.

Fictional example: 2 years of Kestrel Kitchen, made up for this site and trimmed to the columns the builder reads. Paste your own file over either box, or .

Names and emails in the file stay on your screen. The builder reads order numbers, dates, subtotals, statuses and refunds only.

Your weekly business review

ChannelThis weekvs last weekvs last yearExpected rangeDiscuss

The weeks paste into cell A6 of the Weekly revenue sheet in the WBR workbook, Amazon in column B and Shopify in C, after you clear the example. Add your other channels in D and E, and the workbook's chart and Discuss column take them in.

Part 1

Pull the 2 exports

Do this first

  1. In Seller Central, open Reports, then Business Reports, then Sales and Traffic by Date. Pick the dates, view by day, and download the CSV.
  2. In Shopify, open Orders, then Export, and export the orders for the same dates as CSV.
  3. Paste each file into its box, or pick the file. Either one alone works.
  4. Read the Discuss column, then copy the review for your team.
  • For last year's line, export 2 years. With less, the 6-12 chart draws this year and leaves last year blank where there's nothing to compare.
  • Amazon's figure is ordered product sales, the price of order items times units sold.2 Amazon counts refunded units in a column of their own,2 so this is sales before refunds.
  • Shopify's figure is the order subtotal minus refunds. Voided and fully refunded orders are left out, and each order counts once, on the date it was created. Refunds come off as Shopify records them, which can include tax and shipping.

Part 2

How the builder decides what to discuss

  • In a WBR, a metric inside its expected range gets no discussion, and the owner explains one outside it.3 The builder sets that range for you.
  • The range is the low and high of the 8 weeks before, widened by the typical week-to-week move in those weeks, the middle of their 7 changes. A brand that grows a little every week stays in range, and a real spike or drop doesn't.
  • It needs 4 of those 8 weeks. A newer channel shows no verdict until then.
  • The 6-12 chart plots 6 weeks and 12 months, each against the same period last year,3 with each month as its average week, since months hold 4 or 5 weeks. The WBR guide explains how to read it.
  • What's left out: fees, ad spend and Amazon refunds, so this is sales before costs. The export to scorecard reads the same 2 files by month, with sessions and conversion.

Want the why behind the weeks?

The builder says which channel moved. Our monthly review says why: every channel against last year, each likely cause tested in traffic, conversion and price, and the actions ranked with an owner and a date. Send us the same 2 exports. The first month is free, and we never log in to your accounts.
